How to fix over-salted lazy cabbage rolls?
A favorite dish of every mother-in-law is the classic stuffed cabbage rolls with rice, lazy, with potatoes. All kinds of this dish are very tasty, although there is nothing unusual in the recipe, in fact, they are cutlets of cabbage-meat stuffing. But they can be elementarily spoiled by over-salting.
How to remove excess salt?
- If you feel that the finished lazy dovecote is salty, you need to remove the cabbage leaf, cook it again, wrap it and fry in a pan with up to 1 mm of water added. When frying, the water will soak the meat and along with the evaporation will take away the extra salt.
- Another option is to take the cooked stuffed cabbage rolls out of the sauce, make a new one without adding salt and bake them in the oven. The sauce will absorb the excess salt.
- Toss a couple of whole potatoes on a baking tray and cook with them.
- The same can be done by taking rice instead of potatoes, which is up to you. It's up to you to choose a side dish.
- Drain all the sauce and water, and simmer the dish again.
- Remove half of the liquid, add water and add sour cream and tomato sauce.
- If the dish is not too salty, you can add a couple of spoons of sour cream right to the plate. It will be quite liquid, but not too salty.
